Our Advisory Board

Kim Nagowski was an elementary teacher, reading specialist, college professor and community volunteer. Kim taught kindergarten through grade 4 as an elementary teacher and reading specialist. In addition she taught college courses to include Methods of Language Arts and Curriculum courses for grades PreK-grade 6. She has also worked extensively with pre-service teachers, providing guidance and education to help develop strong teaching skills with her elementary education college students. Kim has also served as the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Children as well as Co-Chair for the Women’s Giving Circle of Fayetteville, and as a board member for the Fascinate-U Children’s Museum.
Kristen Sessoms was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where her father was stationed at Fort Bragg. Kristen is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke when she earned her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. While attending Pembroke, Kristen joined Tri Sigma Sorority where she was very active in her Chapter. She is attending Graduate School at UNCP working on her Masters Degree in Counseling, studying Mental Health. After her Bachelors Degree was completed, Kristen accepted a position with Disaster One, a restoration company in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was the Marketing Director. As Marking Director, she worked to build relationships and hold marketing events for the company. Kristen was very active in the Greater Fayetteville Area, working with the Fayetteville Regional Chamber of Commerce; she was in the Ambassador program. Kristen is Married to David Sessoms and is the Mother of Brett Fetzer, 2nd grader at FIA.
David Sessoms is a Graduate of Campbell University, Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and Masters Degree in Education. David began his career in the field of education in Wilmington, North Carolina when he started teaching for Miller-Motte College in 2003. He quickly promoted up the ranks and was moved the Fayetteville, North Carolina to build and open the Miller-Motte College. David served the Fayetteville Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Was named Ambassador of the Year, Top 40 Under 40 for the Fayetteville Observer and earned multiple campus awards for Delta Career Education; Including Business of the Year for the City of Fayetteville for Miller-Motte College. David is a College President for a for-profit College in Raleigh, North Carolina, The Medical Arts School. While working with the Chamber of Commerce and attending multiple events, he met his wife, Kristen Meray. He has one step-son, Brett Fetzer, who has been at First Impressions Academy since pre-school. David and Kristen believe firmly in the Mission of FIA and can see a vast difference in Brett’s educational confidence.
